Born Susan Abigail Tomalin, Susan Sarandon was born October 4, 1946 in New York City, NY. She has been a bright star in the acting world, appearing in movies, on television, and on Broadway.


She had her breakout role in Hollywood in 1975 with the cult classic musical Rocky Horror Picture Show, followed by popular roles in Bill Durham, an Oscars winning role in Dead Man Walking and Thelma & Louise.


Susan’s other awards include BAFTA, and SAG awards. She has received multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.


Beyond her Hollywood career, Susan has been a vocal activist in politics, even being appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1999.


In 2002 Susan Sarandon received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2018, a star was named in her honor by a fan.
