Mandy Moore was a star early on!
Many people associate Mandy with her role as Rebecca Pearson in the award-winning series This Is Us, but her stellar career took off years earlier, in 1999 as a recording artist when she was still in 9th grade. That year her debut single “Candy” became a hit. Later that year she released her first studio album which reached number 31 on the billboard charts and went platinum. She was featured on MTV as a “VJ’ and hosted her own show there. She won the Kid’s Choice Award in 2000 for “Favorite Rising Star.”
She began acting soon afterward, joining Anne Hathaway in the movie Princess Diaries.
